The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is seeking public comments on proposed resurfacing of nearly 10 miles of Interstate 90 east of Alberton.

A mass email from the MDT states that the construction would not begin until 2013 and would stretch from the Alberton interchange and would head east, nearly a mile short of the Huson interchanges. The proposal would include the removal of the cattle guards at the bottom of both east and west off-ramps at the Nine Mile exit.

No property acquisition or utility relocations are anticipated for the project and that signs and pavement marking would also be upgraded. Single lane traffic will occur, if the proposal becomes reality, and construction would take place during normal business hours,

To comment or for more information, the public is encouraged to call Ed Toavs, Missoula District Administrator, (406) 523-5802 or Ben Nunnallee, District Projects Engineer,(406) 523-5846.
