Do you know that your employer has to follow certain rules to fire you? These rules are included in the Wrongful Discharge from Employment laws. An employer must follow its policies. It must fire you for good cause if you are past your probationary period. It cannot fire you for being a whistle-blower. There are many rules about when an employer can and cannot fire you. If the employer fires you when the law says it can’t, you can sue for lost wages and benefits. There are certain workers who this does not apply to.
